Read it Whole - The Bible in a Year
Read It Whole
A year with the whole story of Scripture, beginning in Advent
Most reading plans hand you one book at a time. Read It Whole gives you a little of the whole story every day.
Each day holds four short readings, side by side:
The Old Testament, Genesis through Malachi, about two chapters a day
The New Testament, read through twice so it has room to sink in
A Psalm, cycling through the whole book more than twice over the year
A Proverb, the chapter that matches the day’s date, the old way of doing it
Law and gospel, poetry and letter, all in the same morning.
Why start in Advent? Habits rarely need January. They need a reason and a rhythm to hold them. Advent is already a season of beginning, so the plan starts on the first Sunday of Advent, November 29, 2026. Each month opens with a short theme to carry with you, from “The waiting begins. Not passive — expectant.” to the final pages.
What’s included:
A 15-page printable PDF, letter size
All 365 days, laid out month by month in easy-to-follow tables
A simple layout that’s easy to print, tuck into your Bible, or keep on your phone
Some days you’ll read slowly. Some days you’ll read fast. Some days you’ll miss. That’s okay. Just pick up where you are. There’s no catching up, only coming back.
Pair it with The Whole Story Journal, the companion journal with a monthly overview, weekly reflection prompts, and a simple way to track the days you showed up. (Coming Soon!)
