Why Variable Faith?
About Jillian Gatewood
Hi, I’m Jillian—writer, spiritual guide, and fellow traveler in the sacred mess of everyday life. I created Variable Faith as a space for honest reflection, practical formation, and grace-filled encouragement for those navigating faith in real life.
As a Director of Christian Formation, a mom of four, and a lifelong lover of words, I’ve spent years creating resources for churches, families, and individuals who crave depth and authenticity in their walk with God. My passion is helping others explore how faith weaves through the variables of daily living—through joy and struggle, questions and hope, sacred rituals and unexpected moments of grace.
Before this chapter of ministry, I spent over a decade managing and launching retail teams across the U.S., Canada, the UK, and Italy—including opening stores in places like Milan and Edinburgh. I’ve worked in youth ministry in Westchester, curated digital calendars in New York, and earned my M.Div. and M.A.C.E. from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. I’ve also served on nonprofit boards and diversity committees—always passionate about justice, formation, and helping people feel seen and known.
I believe faith is not static. It grows, shifts, stretches, and surprises us. And I believe God meets us in all of it.
Here you’ll find curated reflections, spiritual practices, and tools to help you (and your community) stay rooted in love, presence, and grace—even when life feels anything but steady.
Thanks for being here. There’s room for your questions, your doubts, your wonder, and your voice.
Let’s walk this journey together.
